Party food
When planning party food for your event, remember to make
a detailed plan. Keep things simple enough that you will not be stressed
out prior and during the party. Sometimes, this may mean having all
or part of the party catered or buying pre-made food.
If you do plan to make the food yourself, you will need to organize
the food menu, your shopping list, your time and processes in the kitchen.
When planning party food, keep your guests in mind. For example, take
the following under consideration:
• Many children are picky eaters. If you make a delectable, gourmet
meal, chances are some of the children will not like or appreciate it.
• Food allergies can be a life-threatening problem. If you plan
to make or serve party food, check with the guests (if children, check
with their parents) regarding food allergies.
• Consider a different time of day for your party, for example,
during the busy holiday season, it may be far more enjoyable to throw
a brunch rather than a full blown dinner party.
• Self-serve themed buffets such as pasta bars with various noodles
and sauces can be a big hit for family friendly parties.
